Pu Luong Nature Reserve is one of the places most visitors to Pu Luong make time for. A nature reserve of terraced valleys, bamboo waterwheels and Thai stilt villages — the quiet version of Sapa, four hours from Hanoi.
Before you go: The trail network connects villages rather than summits, so most walks are 8-15km with modest climbing. A local guide is inexpensive and knows which paths are passable.
