Hai Van Pass is one of the places most visitors to Da Nang make time for. Central Vietnam's gateway city: thirty kilometres of beach, a mountain pass at each end, and the only international airport between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
Before you go: Most traffic now uses the tunnel, so the pass road is quiet. Ride it in the morning before the cloud settles on the col, and check the weather — it is frequently fogged in.
