Muong Hoa Valley is one of the places most visitors to Sapa make time for. Terraced valleys under the Hoang Lien Son range, and the easiest place in Vietnam to spend two days walking between highland villages.
Before you go: A small valley entry fee is collected at the road barrier (an estimate of 75,000-100,000 VND per person; it changes). Hire a guide from one of the villages rather than in town — the money stays local and they know which paths are passable after rain.
