Ta Van Village

A Giay village about 10km down the Muong Hoa valley, and the usual overnight stop on a two-day trek. Quieter than Cat Cat, with stilt-house homestays looking straight onto the terraces and a suspension bridge over the Muong Hoa stream.

About Ta Van Village

A Giay village about 10km down the Muong Hoa valley, and the usual overnight stop on a two-day trek. Quieter than Cat Cat, with stilt-house homestays looking straight onto the terraces and a suspension bridge over the Muong Hoa stream.

Ta Van Village is one of the places most visitors to Sapa make time for. Terraced valleys under the Hoang Lien Son range, and the easiest place in Vietnam to spend two days walking between highland villages.

Before you go: Staying here rather than in Sapa town is the single biggest upgrade to the trip. Evenings are cold at altitude even in summer — bring a fleece.
